Israel Urged to Stop Actions for Peace


mman, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Russia and Jordan called Israel on Monday to stop all actions that may disturb the peace process with the Palestinians, including settlement expansion.

The parties agreed to make their call at a meeting between Jordan Foreign Minister Salah Bashir and Russian representative for the Middle East Alexander Saltanov on Monday.

In a joint statement released to journalists, they urge Israeli authorities to take steps to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people, mainly in the economic field, in the wake of the blockade against Gaza.

They also call on Israel to fulfil its commitments and stop all practices that may hinder the peace process, including the construction of settlements and any other step that may worsen an already serious situation.
